Capacities Extension
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 June 2026
The Capacities Extension by Ofa Suite runs inside your browser using your own Capacities API token. There is no Ofa Suite server behind it, so your token, saved pages, and notes are sent directly to Capacities rather than to Ofa Suite. This policy explains what the extension stores, what it reads, and when it sends data.
Who we are
This extension is published by Ofa Suite, an independent one-person software company registered in the Netherlands. Questions about this policy can be sent to info@ofasuite.com.
Ofa Suite is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Capacities. "Capacities" is the property of its respective owner; this is an independent, third-party tool that connects to the official Capacities API.
What the extension stores on your device
The following is kept locally in your browser (via chrome.storage.local) and never transmitted to Ofa Suite:
- Your Capacities API token: used to authenticate your requests. It is sent only to the Capacities API (
api.capacities.io) and to no one else. It lives on the machine where you entered it and is not synced. - Your selected space and a cached list of your space names, so the extension knows where to save.
- Your preferences: theme choice, the capture tab you last used, and your source-link and timestamp toggles.
What the extension sends when you save
When you trigger a capture by clicking Save, using the right-click menu, or pressing your keyboard shortcut, the extension reads information from the current tab and sends it to the Capacities API to create the entry you asked for. Depending on the action, this may include:
- The page's URL, title, and meta description.
- Any text you selected on the page.
- In full-page clip mode, the page's main article content, converted to Markdown in your browser.
- Any tags and notes you add in the popup.
This data is sent directly from your browser to api.capacities.io over HTTPS, and only for the save you initiated. The extension does not read or transmit page content in the background.
What we do not do
- No analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels, or advertising.
- No Ofa Suite server. There is no backend that receives your token, pages, or notes.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
Permissions the extension requests
- storage: to save your token, selected space, and preferences locally.
- activeTab and scripting: to read the current page's URL, title, metadata, selection, and (in full-page mode) content, only at the moment you trigger a capture.
- contextMenus: to provide the right-click "Save to Capacities" options.
- Access to
https://api.capacities.io: to send your captures to your Capacities account.
Third-party service: Capacities
The whole point of the extension is to save content into your Capacities account, so your captures and your API token are sent to Capacities. How Capacities handles that data is governed by their own privacy policy, available at capacities.io. Ofa Suite has no control over and no access to your Capacities account.
Retention and deletion
All data the extension keeps lives locally in your browser. You can clear it at any time by using Disconnect in the extension's settings, or by removing the extension. Both actions remove your stored token, space selection, and preferences. Content you have already saved to Capacities is managed entirely within your Capacities account.
Changes to this policy
If the extension's data handling changes, this page and the "last updated" date above will be revised. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect in a published version.
